Tibetan Mane/ Prayer Wheel- Solar

Tibetan Mane or Prayer Wheel is a cylindrical wheel on a spindle made from metal, wood, stone etc. Traditionally, a mantra is written in Newari language of Nepal, on the outside of the wheel. The mantra Om mani padme hum is most commonly used, but other mantras may be used as well.

How and why is it used?
Turning a prayer wheel with millions of mantras inside is the equivalent of saying those millions of mantras, but it is achieved in a fraction of the time. Prayer wheels are used by many Tibetans everyday. Worshippers turn prayer wheels to accumulate merit, to help all beings in the world and to purify their karma (intentional actions).

Mantra: "Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hum"

Tibetan pinyin: "ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃྃ"
