
Lakshmi Narayan Shaligram
Shaligram or Salagrama or Shilas refers to a fossilized shell which holds a lot of religious and cultural significance in Hindus worship as a symbol of Lord Vishnu. It has great significance and is popular in the tradition of Vaishnavism as an iconic representation of the divine God. Historically, they are in the form of spherical, balck coloured fossils stone found in the sacred Gandaki River, Muktinath, Nepal only which have been existed nearly a 400-66 million years ago. The Shaligrams of different shapes are often associated with different incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
